Thank you for your interest in the Montessori philosophy and in our program.

We encourage you to schedule a visit with us. A formal observation of the environment and classrooms ends with an information period where you can ask as many questions as you wish. If you have not yet received an informational packet, we will send one home with you at this initial meeting.

We urge observers to allow adequate time for a lengthy observation and the opportunity to discuss the philosophy and its implementation. A repeat visit is always encouraged.

You are always welcome to stop by un-announced; our regular hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the school year. Summer office hours are limited, and classes are not in session; please call in advance to ensure we are available on the day you wish to visit.

Financial assistance is available for those in need.

Children are accepted between the ages of 2 1⁄2 and 4 into the primary program. Many continue into the elementary years in the junior program. Siblings of children already enrolled and children transferring from another Montessori program, provided they are accompanied by complete records, will be given preference. Possible exception is granted upon the approval of the staff. Children are admitted throughout the school year. The younger children attend a morning session five days a week. The older children attend for a full day five days a week.

The Montessori Children's House of York, Inc. admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs and athletic and other school administered programs.
